Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.
Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.
The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
We are looking for a volunteer to assist the pharmacy department. duties may include:-
To be a member of the Pharmaceutical Service volunteer team as required at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.To liaise with various members of the Pharmacy team and ward staff
Take sealed green bags or travel folders to wards/departments and obtaining authorised signature of receipt from recipient.
If no staff are available then the delivery must be returned to Pharmacy and reported to the Dispensary Manager.
Return paperwork including receipt of drugs signatures to pharmacy.
To receive and check details on incoming prescriptions
To answer telephone and face to face queries of a routine nature from a wide range of staff groups, either in the Pharmacy or on the wards. Refer appropriate queries to the relevant member of the Pharmacy team when necessary.
Dress & conduct should be of a standard that promotes patient & public confidence in the ability of the individual and the service as a whole
