Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our well-established Pre-Operative Nursing team at Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals Trust.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of the Lead Pre-Operative Nurse Practitioner to provide leadership, management and support to the Pre-operative nursing team . The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective pre-operative assessment service, ensuring that it is evidence based, patient centred and of a high standard.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have the responsibility for the development, implementation and
co-ordination of pre operative assessment across the trust.
Act as an autonomous practitioner with referring authority.
Lead, manage and develop a team of pre operative practitioners in delivering a quality efficient service.

Working for our organisation

The pre-assessment team work on both sites of the Trust, consisting of Band 5 & 6 practitioners and Band 3 HCA's and clerical staff. The team is small, friendly and supportive. and they pride themselves on delivering the best possible care to the patients in the community.
