Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk and District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.

The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.

Are you an experienced and driven APP / ESP delivering high quality evidenced based interventions within MSK or Orthopaedic Outpatient Services?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity as a Consultant Physiotherapist, to provide clinical leadership and be accountable for the operational oversight of the 'Joint Health' MSK interface service and Secondary Care Therapy Out-Patient teams across our two hospital sites.

 

The successful candidate will lead our MSK MDT which consists of Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners' (APP's), Specialist Hand Occupational Therapists, Advanced Practice Podiatrists, Physiotherapists and Consultants in Sports & Exercise Medicine.

Alongside Consultant colleagues, you will lead in the application of research into practice and enhancing quality outcomes in the areas of assessment, diagnosis and management. You will deliver a wide range of initiatives to support the quality agenda including development of Evidenced based treatment pathways, APP training and competency frameworks; PROMs and GIRFT.

As a Consultant Physiotherapist, you will deliver advanced clinical practice, leadership, research and education whilst also providing operational oversight for the  delivery of Therapy Outpatient services. You will bring innovation and expert clinical physiotherapy practice and take lead role in the ongoing service re design of the Joint Health Integrated MSK Service.  Good political awareness, business acumen and previous experience in service transformation are desirable

We are looking for an inspirational clinician with strong communication, organisational and leadership qualities, who is driven to deliver high quality patient care that is underpinned by research.

You will be required to monitor operational and clinical standards and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient and effective services, within the ever changing needs of  Health care.

This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check
