Job overview

We are looking for proactive and dynamic Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our team on Ward 11B - Gastroenterology / Acute Medicine. 

The successful candidates will need to be committed to providing a high standard of patient care and will work alongside other members of our team.

11B is a 26  bedded Gastroenterology & Acute Medical Unit which specialises in a variety of  conditions. This is a fast paced unit with twice daily ward MDT meetings.

We are looking for both newly qualified and experienced nurses, who would enjoy the opportunity to learn and develop high standards of person-centred care.

The Trust offers opportunities to further enhance clinical / leadership skills. Ward 11B offers a robust preceptorship programme. 

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure that an effective plan of care/care pathway is implemented and maintained for the patient.
  • That the patient’s plan of care is reviewed, evaluated and updated in accordance with the clinical condition and that all documentation is completed to the required standard.
  • To maintain effective communication, keeping the person in charge who has continuing responsibility informed of changes affecting patients & staff.
  • To ensure that patient care is delivered as and when required, within the Scope of Professional Practice and Code of Professional Conduct.
