Full and part time
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.
Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.
The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
We are looking to recruit full and part time Band 5 Registered Nurses to our Short Stay Unit team.
Short Stay Unit is a 24hr unit caring for patients who require a short stay in hospital. This is a fast paced & challenging unit, caring for medical, surgical and urological admissions. We receive our patients directly from AED and EAU.
The aim of the Unit is to provide care and treatment to patients, with timely transfer to specialist providers or discharge.
We are an innovative team incorporating, a team of acute consultants, Respiratory Consultants and Cardiologists, experienced nursing staff and are fully supported by an actively involved multi-disciplinary team including pharmacists, outreach nurses, specialist nurses and others, working together to provide a safe and supportive environment.
We are looking for band 5 nurses who are committed, motivated, ready to be challenged and are willing to engage.
Long days are now available to staff throughout the trust. Family friendly working policies are also in operation. Permanent night shift working will be considered.
Experience within an urgent care/acute medical environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for adults)
