Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk and District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.

The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to work as a Locum Appointed for Service (LAS) F2+ Level on our rota in the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport and Formby District General Hospital. This is a full time post commencing ASAP to cover a training post vacancy for approximately 6 months.

If you are looking to progress your career within an acute Hospital setting, this post will enable you to develop your knowledge and expertise within a supportive environment and provide you with the knowledge and skills to develop your career further. The appointee will have access to the internal training programme and will be allocated a developmental supervisor to provide appraisal and career development support.

The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre serves a population of approximately 6.5million and links with all of the Major Trauma Centres in the North West. The Centre consists of 43 inpatient including 9 ventilator support beds and 9 intermediate care beds.  It is internationally renowned for the care of ventilated spinal cord injury patients.

Applicants should have full GMC Registration with licence to practice and have completed Foundation Year 1 or equivalent.
