Main duties of the job

The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk and District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, adaptable Band 6 Outreach Nurse to join our Outreach team at Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to be involved in, and contribute to service developments and plans. They will be integral to the MDT, and work with colleagues to facilitate safe, seamless care through physiological and psychological assessment, treatment and escalation planning in the acute setting.

The outreach service is friendly and supportive place to work. The  outreach team are an integrated team which encompasses all the critical care services and cover all the wards and units throughout the Trust.

The successful candidate will be part of the outreach team and will cover weekend's and nights on a rotational basis.
The successful candidate will be given appropriate training and support when in post. Applicants must demonstrate within their supplementary information how they meet the essential and desirable criteria as we use this to short list.
