Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity with the creation of a fixed term/secondment opportunity until the end of March 2023 and are looking for an experienced, motivated, and independently minded senior nurse with developed leadership skills and  significant experience working at a senior level.

The Lead Nurse must be able to act on their own initiative, achieve outstanding performance, role model the trusts SCOPE values and be a true advocate for patient experience, quality and safety.

Main duties of the job

The Lead Nurse must have a ‘can do’ leadership style and will work closely with the Associate Director of Nursing and AHPs and Associate Director of Operations to drive significant quality improvement across a range of areas in support of the CBU's strategic direction, focusing on ward and department performance metrics with a strong focus on productivity, improved patient experience and staff experience.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse registered with the NMC
  • MSc Level qualification or equivalent

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working in a senior nurse capacity in a relatable area
  • Successful leadership of QI projects with demonstrable outcomes
  • Experience of ward management
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working at this level previously

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Well developed communication skills in challenging environments
  • Champion quality nursing care provision
  • Ability to analyse data, prepare responses, identify and manage risk, for judgements and work to tight timescales
