Applications are invited for a Consultant post in Geriatric Medicine at the Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust, based mainly at the Southport site, but travel to our Ormskirk site may be required.
With a large elderly population we have seen a rise in emergency admissions to hospital, the appointee will be joining an expanding clinical service that already comprises an enthusiastic progressive team of geriatricians. This post is designed primarily to support current acute hospital geriatric care.

The acute geriatric clinical activity may include one or more of the following activities: acute geriatric on-call work (based on the Acute Frailty Unit), geriatric base ward activity, outpatient geriatric care plus educational and leadership roles to support the development of this forward thinking department.
Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date and have a certificate of completion of specialist training.
As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced DBS will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.
