Risk Stratification Support Worker (Prostate)
Fixed Term Contract for 12 months

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.
Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk and District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.
The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and interested individual to join our hard working Urology team on a fixed term contract for 12 months to assist with cover for maternity leave of the existing post holder.
The successful candidate ideally should have an understanding of the Prostate Cancer Pathway and how Risk Stratified follow-up is beneficial to the patients.
The successful candidate will be expected to cover the existing post holders workload and support relevant prostate cancer patients self manage following initial treatment. They will be expected to make use of the database and patients tacker systems to ensure all patients are supported and conduct regular workshops to support newly transferred patients.
The successful candidate will work closely with the wider urology team in particular the CNS team and lead Consultant and will be expected to provide update reports to both the Trust and the Cancer Alliance regarding the success of the programme.
