The Department sees approximately 54,000 patients per year who present with a variety of health care needs. The learning and development opportunities are vast. We consider the Department to be an innovative and creative environment for those nurses pursuing a career in A&E nursing. Our team is multi-disciplinary and includes ENP’s, Mental Health Liaison, Occupational therapists and physiotherapists.

Due to a significant uplift in our nursing establishment for A&E we have exciting
opportunities to recruit numerous band 5 registered nurses to our team in Southport Accident & Emergency. Due to this we can offer various hours of contract on permanent or temporary basis to suit individual needs, including flexible shifts and working patterns.

The department has an A&E clinical educator who focuses on development and support of the staff and career progression. In addition to we have implemented new posts of patient safety nurses, who are senior clinical nurses on shift providing specific focus on patient safety, whilst providing support and education to all staff in the team.
