Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister to work in our Paediatric Emergency Department

The Paediatric ED has been rated good by CQC and recently undergone redesigning and refurbishment. We pride ourselves on providing excellent family centred care to children and families in the local area.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Children's nurse who is an excellent role model, self-motivated and committed to the delivery of high standards of quality care.

A commitment to staff development and training is essential.

If you are an experienced Children’s nurse with a background in  Acute / A&E Paediatric nursing, committed to providing high quality care and would like to further develop your existing clinical and management skills whilst supporting both senior and junior colleagues in a supportive team, this position could be for you.

Main duties of the job

You must have post registration clinical experience within a Children’s ED environment or equivalent transferrable skills and evidence of proven leadership in that area.


The post is rotational to night duty and the ability to work as part of a team is essential. This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for children disclosure)

Working for our organisation

The Emergency Department sees up 30,000 children per year and our Paediatric Services are rated Good by CQC.

We also have  Children’s Community Outreach Team .

The Paediatric Team have been innovative and forward thinking, developing our own very skilled and competent ENP’s and APNP’s to ensure a stable and supportive workforce, and we are continuing to develop and value our staff in this way.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RSCN/RN (CHILD)
  • Degree in Nursing or working towards
  • Post registration experience in clinical area

Knowledge and Skills
