Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.

Applications are invited to join a friendly and progressive team as a Locum Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals NHS Trust. The department strives to improve healthcare of Women in the region. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate good clinical and communication skills delivered with compassion. In return you will be supported and valued for the skills and knowledge you bring to the team working alongside enthusiastic and forward thinking Clinical Directors, Service Director, management and administrative team.
You will bring skills in labour ward management, an area of specialism related to your advanced training specialty modules (or equivalent), leadership and a desire to contribute fully to our team of consultants, doctors in training and specialty doctors. The post will include some resident shifts where you will usually be supported by a doctor training in obstetrics and gynaecology. Some of these shifts will be resident overnight.

The Trust provides a range of local hospital services across its two main sites at Southport and Ormskirk including Supra Regional Spinal Injuries Unit. The Trust is proud to have been awarded University Clinical Education Centre by the University of Liverpool in recognition of the high standards of training provided for students on placements with the Trust.

Obstetrics & Gynaecology services are predominately based at Ormskirk District General Hospital, with some clinics delivered in Southport District General Hospital, the department works closely with Sexual Health Services delivering a range of general and specialty clinics.
