Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.
Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk and District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.
The Trust provides a range of local hospital services across its two main sites at Southport and Ormskirk including Supra Regional Spinal Injuries Unit. The Trust is proud to have been awarded University Clinical Education Centre by the University of Liverpool in recognition of the high standards of training provided for students on placements with the Trust.
The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.
Applications are invited to join our friendly and progressive team as a Consultant Community Paediatrician. The post has arisen due to an expansion of the team. the department strives to improve healthcare for community patients with neuro-developmental needs. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent, clinical and communication skills delivered with compassion. In return you will be supported and valued for the skills and knowledge you bring to the team working alongside an enthusiastic and forward thinking Community Consultant Lead, Clinical Director, Management and Administrative team.
The post is 6 PA's and the post holder will be expected to undertake at least two relevant specialist clinics per week with appropriate time available for administration and liaison, to provide cover for clinical child safeguarding work and to participate in the work of the Specialist Assessment Service, in particular in the assessment of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, EHCP and IHA’s and MDT work. 5 DCC and 1SPA.
This is a post based with Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust, Women’s and Children’s CBU based in Ormskirk. Services are delivered across West Lancashire in a variety of Community-based centres and Ormskirk District and General main Hospital site, working closely with other NHS providers and 3rd Sector colleagues.
The Service is commissioned by West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group
All applicants must be either on the GMC Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining their CCT award at the time of interview.
